Optimize Healthcare Operations: Integrated Medical Software

In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, businesses find themselves managing a complex web of applications, systems, and data sources. Integration software seamlessly connects disparate systems, facilitating the flow of information across your organization. It bridges the gap between legacy technologies, cloud-based platforms, and specialized tools, creating a unified digital ecosystem.

Business context:

Our client initially needed a software solution, but as development progressed, the vital importance of seamless integration became clear. Incompatible systems for managing patient data, medical devices, operational scheduling, and medication updates limited the software’s functionality and hindered decision-making.

Our approach:
We implemented strategic integration solutions that connected their core systems and automated key processes.

HL7 Integration: We leveraged the HL7 standard to ensure seamless communication between the patient administration software, medical devices, and medication management systems. Artificial intelligence was used to monitor for new HL7 versions and adapt our integration accordingly.

Scheduling Information Unsolicited Messages (SIU): The surgery scheduling system was integrated via HL7 messages to optimize operating room usage and provide real-time visibility into resource availability while automating the dispensing process of the medical supplies.

Microservices for Scalability: We utilized a microservices architecture to access and integrate patient and doctor information from Oracle databases, ensuring GDPR compliance through strict data segregation and access controls. This ensured flexibility and enabled easy updates as our needs evolved, all while adhering to the data protection standards outlined in the signed agreement.

Mirth Connect: Mirth Connect was implemented to manage replenishment lists, ensuring the pharmacy system could automatically send and receive stock information, optimizing medication availability.

Results:

Improved Care Coordination: Centralized access to patient data within our HIS significantly enhanced our client’s ability to provide coordinated, informed care.

Enhanced Data Accuracy: Automated data transfer eliminated the possibility of human errors, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of patient health records.

Optimized Workflows: Integration across key systems streamlined scheduling, medication management, and administration processes.
