How did your journey at SABS start?

I began my journey at SABS in 2017 as a software tester and worked diligently to ensure the software was free of issues and bugs. Simultaneously, I learned automation testing, which helped me streamline the testing process and reduce manual errors.

One year and a half later, I had the opportunity to move forward in a development role. The transition from a tester to a developer was gradual, and I slowly took on more complex tasks. SABS provided me with ample opportunities to learn and grow, and I made the most out of them.

Through it all, working in development is a challenging and fulfilling opportunity for me. It allowed me to grow my technical skills and collaborate with other developers on exciting projects. I am proud of the progress I have made so far and I look forward to continuous learning, growth, and taking on new challenges in the future.

What were some major challenges that you successfully overcome?

I faced a significant challenge when one of my colleagues went on parental leave. This meant that I became the sole developer responsible for a project’s development and deployment and that I had to shoulder all the responsibility to ensure that the project is completed on time while meeting the expected quality standards. I managed to overcome this challenge with a positive attitude and with the support and guidance from my colleagues. This experience also helped me deepen my technical knowledge.

Why do you like working at SABS?

I enjoy working at SABS because I like the company’s culture, which creates a comfortable, flexible, and enjoyable work environment. Another reason is that my co-workers are friendly and supportive, which makes collaboration and teamwork seamless. Also, the company is known for providing excellent services and products to its customers.
